Intravenous Infusions PLC (IIPLC) is a Ghanaian pharmaceutical company producing and distributing Intravenous Fluids in Ghana and the West African sub region. Being the market leader and listed on the Ghana Alternative Market since December 2015, Intravenous Infusions PLC was incorporated in 1969 and began operations in 1974 as the first pharmaceutical company producing intravenous infusions in Ghana.

The company was set up to take advantage of the total lack of local production of infusions and the country’s dependence on imports. Intravenous Infusions PLC’s production process is highly regulated and certified by Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) AND Factory Inspectorate Division. The company’s wholesale and distribution activities are also regulated by the Pharmacy Council under the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013, Act 857.

Located in Koforidua – Ghana, Intravenous Infusions PLC is one of the largest Private Sector Employers in the Eastern Region, with a staff strength of over 150 employees. By the nature of its life saving products, the Company plays a strategic role in the health delivery programmes, not only in Ghana Ministry of Health, but also all the Private Hospitals as well as Health sectors of Institutions like the Ghana Armed Forces, Police Service and Mission Hospitals.

At IIL, we conduct transparent business operations based on market mechanism within the legal, ethical & social framework with aims to attain the mission reflected by our vision. Our CSR activities also consider the interests of our external & internal stakeholders like customers, employees, vendors, shareholders, society, government, ecological and ethical considerations in all aspects of operations.

Our Coporate History

Intravenous Infusions PLC was incorporated in 1969 and began operations in 1974 as the first pharmaceutical company producing intravenous infusions in Ghana. IIL was set up to take advantage of the lack of local production of infusions and the country’s total dependence on imports. The Company’s products can be categorized into:

IIPLC pioneered the local production of a narcotic analgesic, Pethidine. The Company is currently the sole producer of this drug within West African sub region. Pethidine is part of the SVI products range which also includes Magnessium Sulphate and Quinine Dihydrochloride injections. Quinine is a relatively new addition to IIL’s product line.

IIL is authorized to undertake the following businesses:

i. Manufacture of intravenous infusions, drugs, medicines and other by-products.

ii. Sell the manufactured products in and outside Ghana

iii. Import and sell pharmaceutical and medical supplies in Ghana and elsewhere.
